act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of Assembly
in such case made and provided

                Know all men by these presents that William Bryan of Anne
Arundel County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum
of seven hundred dollars current money of the United States to me in hand paid
by Benjamin H. Hall of the same County and state the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged has granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said Benjamin H. Hall the following property to wit one negro
boy named Daniel one negro girl named Jane three beds Bedsteads & Bedding two
carpets eighteen chaires four tables one Bureau one clothes press two stoves and kitchen
furniture now in possession of Mrs Margaret Hall.  To Have and to hold the above
described property to the said Benjamin H. Hall his Executors administrators
and assigns and to his and their only proper use and behoof and to and for no
other use intent or purpose whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this 4.th day of April eighteen
hundred and forty five

in presence of John E. Stalker

       At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

    Maryland Sct.  On this 4.th day of April eighteen hundred and forty five
personally appeared William Bryan party grantor to the foregoing
instrument and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the goods
and chattels therein described to be the right and estate of the said Benjamin
H. Hall party grantee therein mentioned and I do further certify that the
said William Bryan is the identical person professing to sign the same

    Know all men by these presents that I Francis Brashears of Anne
Arundel County for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars
current money to me in hand paid by Richard H. Battee and William L
Lowe Merchants trading in Baltimore under the firm of Battee & Lowe
at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Battee & Lowe their Executors
Administrators and assigns all my crop of tobacco part which is now
hanging in Houses on my farm in Anne Arundel County and the residue
is now in the possession of said Battee & Lowe.  To Have and to hold the aforesaid
