in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars current money
of the United States to me in hand paid by William W. Cooksey
of the County and State aforesaid at or before the ensealing and delivering
of these presents the receipt whereof I the said James B. Queen do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do
grant bargain and sell unto the said William W. Cooksey his
Executors administrators and assigns my negroe woman man.d Sally
and her Boy child two sorrell Horses one Sorrell mare one bay mare one
Bay horse colt twenty head of hogs three red and brindle Stears or
work oxen two milk cows of different colours one young stear unbroke
and three heifers also two calves all of my now standing field of indian
corn standing on the lands lately purchased by Mrs Owens all of my
carpenters tools & poultry comprising of about fifty turkeys and about
thirty dungel fowls all of which property is now in my possession
To Have and To Hold the said property to the said William W.
Cooksey his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the
said James B. Queen for myself my heirs Executors and administrators
the aforesaid and described property to the said William W.
Cooksey his Executors administrators and assigns rt me the said
James B. Queen my Executors and administrators and against
all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will
warrant and forever defend by these presents provided nevertheless
that In case I the said James B. Queen shall pay and satisfy
to the said William W. Cooksey for to his Executors administrators
and assigns the sum of three hundred dollars current money
of the United States with interest for the same on or before the
twenty first day of Nov.b eighteen hundred and forty nine then this
bill of sale and every matter & thing therein expressed shall be
void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning
thereof that the said negroes woman and her boy child with all of
the rest of the specified property is mortgaged by me the said
James B. Queen to secure to the said William W. Cooksey the
payment of the money aforesaid.  In Witness whereof I the said
James B. Queen have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal
the first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty five
