       In Witness whereof the said Passmore Mcculloh has hereto set his hand
and affixed his seal the day and year first above written

    At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

Be it remembered that on this twenty second day of August eighteen
hundred and forty five before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace
of the said State in and for said County personally appeared Passmore
Mcculloh party grantor above named and acknowledged the aforegoing
instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein
mentioned and I do further certify that I am satisfied of my own knowledge
that the said Passmore Mcculloh is the party named and
described and professing to sign the same

Mortgage from Nicholas H. Green
to Robert Welch of Ben of negroes
dated the twenty third day of
August eighteen hundred and
forty five
This Indenture made this
twenty third day of August
in the year eighteen hundred
and forty five between Nicholas
H. Green of Anne Arundel
County in the State of Maryland
of the one part and Robert Welch of Ben of the same
County and State aforesaid of the other part.  Whereas the President
Directors and Company of the Farmers Bank of Maryland
have discounted for the accommodation of the said Nicholas
H Green his note for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars
dated the twentieth instant at sixty days and endorsed by the
said Robert Welch of Ben and one Cornelius M.cLean  And whereas
it is the intention of the said Nicholas H Green better to secure
the payment thereof and all renewals and substitutes and to
save harmless and indemnify the said Robert Welch
of Ben by reason of any future endorsement for and on account
of the said note hath agreed to execute these presents.  Now
this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Nicholas H Green
for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration
of the sum of one dollar lawful money of the
United States to him in hand paid by the said Robert Welch of
