In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen
hundred and forty five
Signed sealed and delivered        Edwin W. Duvall   (seal)
in the presence of W.m Glover

    At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sct.

          Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on
this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen
hundred and forty five before the Subscriber a justice of
the peace in and for said State and County personally appeared
Edwin W Duvall he being known to me to be the person
who is named and described as and professing to be a party
to the foregoing bill of sale and doth acknowledge the same
to be his act and deed.  In Testimony whereof I hereunto
subscribed my name on the day and year aforesaid

Mortgage from Philip C. Clayton
of personal property to Philip
Clayton dated the fifth day of
August eighteen hundred and
forty five
This Indenture made this
fifth day of August in the
year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty five
between Philip C. Clayton of
Anne Arundel County and
State of Maryland of the one part and Philip Clayton of the same
County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Philip
C. Clayton owes and stands justly indebted to the said Philip
Clayton in the sum of four hundred dollars current money and
to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents
Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Philip C. Clayton
for and in consideration of the premises of the sum of one dollar
current money to him in hand paid by the said Philip Clayton at
or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by
these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Philip
Clayton his executors administrators and assigns all his household
and kitchen furniture now in his possession in his dwelling
house in West street in the City of Annapolis  To Have To Hold
all and singular the said household and Kitchen furniture herein
before granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be
unto the said Philip Clayton his executors administrators and assigns
