483 for a term of years out of the State of Maryland and the said Court having authorised me to do so by their order passed on my petition on the sixteenth day of November last Have this day for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Edwin W. Duvall the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged transferred set over and assigned and by these presents do transfer set over and assign to the said Edwin W. Duvall of the City of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County aforesaid the said negro Bill a slave for a term of years and to serve for seven years from the first day of December last past being about the age of thirty three years and being the same slave whom the said Watkins was by the said order authorised to sell out of the State of Maryland for turbulent and vicius conduct and the interest of the said Watkins being in the remainder of the said term of years. To Have and To Hold the said Slave Bill for and during the rest and residue of his said term of years and no longer to the said Edwin W. Duvall and his Executors administrators and assigns. In Testimony whereof the said James H. Watkins of N and the said Edwin W. Duvall have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals on this twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one Signed Sealed and delivered James H. Watkins of N (seal) in presence of J. W. Hunter Edwin W. Duvall (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State the Maryland Anne Arundel County Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this twenty fourth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty one before the subscriber justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid personelly appeared James H. Watkins of N and Edwin W. Duvall both of the said County and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale or instrument of writing to be their act and deed and at the same time made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the said bill of sale or instrument of writing is true and bona fide as therein set forth.
