At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit
       State of Maryland
                                     Anne Arundel County to wit
On this nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty five before the Subscriber a justice
of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the
above named George W. Nutwell party grantor to the foregoing
Instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be
his act and deed and I further certify that the said George
W. Nutwell is known to me of my own knowledge to be the
identical person named and described as and professing to
be a party grantor to said instrument of writing
Recorded the 19.th day of July 1845      W.m Glover

Bill of sale between William
H. Turton and Edwin W. Duvall
agent of Joseph S. Donovan of a negro
girl named Julia dated the twenty
fifth day of July eighteen hundred and
forty five
Know all men by these
presents that I William
H. Turton of Anne Arundel
County and state of Maryland
for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred
and twenty five dollars current money to me in hand paid by
Edwin E. Duvall agent of Joseph S. Donovan of the County and
State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have
granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant and bargain
and sell unto the said Edwin W. Duvall agent as aforesaid a negro
Girl named Julia the said Julia being sound both in body and mind
To Have and To Hold the said Julia above bargained and sold or meant
mentioned or intended so to be to the said Edwin W Duvall agent
as aforesaid his executors administrators and assigns until the first
day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty seven
and then to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner
of service or servitude whatever.  And I the said William H. Turton
will warrant and defend unto the said Edwin W Duvall agent
as aforesaid of Joseph S. Donovan and his assings and against
every other person whomsoever the said Girl Julia as above
granted bargained and sold

                In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and seals this twenty fifth day of July in the year eighteen hundred
and forty five
