warrant and forever defend by these presents.  In witness whereof,
I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this eighteenth day of
December 1850

    Be it remembered that on this eighteenth day of December 1850,
before the Subscriber, a Justice of the Peace for said County, appears
Nicholas B. Worthington, and acknowledges the above Instrument of
Writing to be his act and deed, according to the true intent and
meaning thereof.  And at the same time appeared before me
Mary Weil, the grantee in the said Bill of Sale named, and
made oath that the consideration set forth in said Bill of Sale
is true and bonafide as therein set forth

Benjamin Cregg

Polly Bowie
Know all men by these presents, that I
Benjamin Cregg of Anne Arundel County, in
the State of Maryland, for and in consideration
of the sum of thirty dollars current money, to me in hand paid
by Polly Bowie of the aforesaid county, in the said State, at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof, I the said Benjamin
Cregg do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and
by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Polly Bowie,
her Executors, Administrators and Assigns, one bay mare called Fanny and
one small colt, and now in the possession of the said Benjamin
Cregg.  To Have and To Hold, all and singular the mare and colt,
above bargained and sold, or mentioned and intended so to be,
to the said Polly Bowie, her Executors, Administrators and Assigns
forever.  And I the said Benjamin Cregg, for myself, my heirs,
executors and administrators, all and singular the said mare
and colt, unto the said Polly Bowie, her Executors, Administrators and
Assigns, against me the said Benjamin Cregg, my executors
and administrators, and against all and every other person or
persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant, and forever defend
by these presents said mare and colt, I the said
Benjamin Cregg have put the said Polly Bowie in full
possession by delivering to her the said Polly Bowie the
said mare and colt at the sealing and delivery of these
