On this twenty fifth day of September in the year eighteen
hundred and fifty before me the subscriber the aforesaid
Justice of the Peace, and at the same time of the above
acknowledgement personally appears Alexander Randall,
the mortgagee in the above deed, and makes oath that the
consideration set forth in the above deed of mortgage is true
and bona fide, as therein set forth

Anne Arundel County to wit:  I certify that the grantee
this day paid twenty five cents, being the duty chargeable
by Law on this Instrument of Writing, the receipt whereof
is hereon endorsed, agreeably to the Act of Assembly of December
Session 1846 chapter 61.   Given under my hand this 30.th day of
September, Anno Domini, eighteen hundred and fifty

Hamilton P. Moss
Know all men by these presents that I Thomas
J. Hall of Anne Arundel County and State of
Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum
of eighty dollars, current money to me in hand paid by Hamilton
P. Moss of the County and State aforesaid, at and before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant,
bargain and sell, unto the said Hamilton P. Moss his Executors, Administrators
and Assigns, one negro woman Rachael aged sixteen years, on
the eighteenth day of December eighteen hundred and fourty four
last, to remain in servitude, until she the said Rachael, shall
arrive at the age of thirty years, said negro being conveyed to the
late Richard Gardner by a certain Elijah R. Arnold, late
of the aforesaid County, by bill of said, dated the nineteenth day
of March 1845 (Eighteen hundred and forty five) and recorded
in Liber J. H. N. No 1 folios 7 &c being one of the personal deed record
books of Anne Arundel County.   To Have and To Hold, the said
negro woman Rachael as above bargained and sold or mentioned
or intended so to be to the said Hamilton P. Moss, his executors administrators
and assigns, and I the said Thomas J. Hall, for myself, my heirs
Executors and Administrators, the said negro Rachael, unto the
said Hamilton P. Moss, his executors, administrators and assigns, against
me the said Thomas J. Hall, my executors administrators and assigns
and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever,
