Charles McCubbin
          to
George W McCubbin
 Know all Men by these presents that I
Charles McCubbin of Anne Arundel County
and State of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of Twenty five
dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid by George
W McCubbin of the County and State afforesaide at or before the
sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged Have granted, bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain and sell, unto the said George W
McCubbin his executors administrators and assigns My negro
girl Hester Ten Years old in August Eighteen hundred and
forty nine and To serve untill she is thirty which said negro
I will warrant and defend to the said George W McCubbin
his executors administrators and assigns against me my Executors
and administrators and against every other person or persons
whomsoever   To Have and To Hold the said described Negro Girl
Hester to the said George W McCubbin his executors administrators
and assigns forever and I the said Charles McCubbin for himself
heirs Executors and administrators the said negro girl Hester
unto the said George W McCubbin his executors administrators
and assigns against him the said Charles McCubbin Executors
and administrators and against all and every other person or
persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents   In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this Twentieth day of August Eighteen hundred and
forty nine
Signed sealed and delivered               his
    in the presence of               Charles x McCubbin   (seal)
    A Johnson                                    mark

                  SS   Be it remembered that on this Twentieth day of
August 1849 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said
County appears Charles McCubbin and acknowledges the above
Instrument of writing to be his act and deed, according to the
true intent and meaning thereof and at the same time and
place also appeared the grantee in the said Bill of Sale named
and made oath that the consideration set forth in the said
Bill of Sale is true and Bona fide as therein set forth
