Frances Barber
          to
George A Barber
Know all Men by these presents that I Frances Barber of
Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for the consideration
of the sum of fifty dollars current money to me in hand
paid by George A Barber of the County and State aforesaid
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered
and by these presents do grant bargain sell and delivery unto the said George A
Barber my negro slaves Mary, Susan, Sally and John, which said Slaves
Mary Susan Sally and John I will warrant and defend to the said George
A Barber his executors administrators and assigns against me my executors
and administrators and against every other person or persons whomsoever  In
Witness I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this Eighteenth
day of February Eighteen hundred and fifty

    Jos Nicholson                          Frances Barber   (Seal)

Maryland Anne Arundel County To wit   On this 18th day of February 1850
before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears
Frances Barber and acknowledges the foregoing Writing to be her act and
deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly
in Such Case made and provided

Maria Duvall
         to
John S Sellman
Know all Men by these presents that I Maria Duvall
of Price George's County in the State of Maryland for
and in consideration of divers good causes me thereunto
moving and in consideration of the sum of five dollars
current money to me in hand paid by John S. Sellman of Anne Arundel
County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof I Maria Duvall do hereby acknowledge
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said John S Sellman his heirs and assigns all the goods
household chattels and effects and other property hereinafter particularly
mentioned that is to say negro woman Rachel aged forty nine Jennetta
aged twenty Eight Rachel nine Years old Hessy seven years old and negro
man Julius aged twenty years all slaves for life together with the cattle
and hogs and horses and Sheep now at this time in the occupancy
and possession of John Mortimer Duvall of Anne Arundel County
in the State of Maryland and all and singular the house hold goods
and wares and furniture in the dwelling house and all the Farm
implements, the whole property negroes stock utensils furniture and so
forth being on the land owned by me the said Maria and possessed
by the said by Virtue of a deed of Sale to me from one Benjamin
