387. Randall on stamped paper payable in five years from the date the twenty fourth instant the interest whereof is to be paid annually which the said Weems Ridout is anxious to secure by these presents Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Weems Ridout for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Randall the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and doth hereby grant bargain and sell to the said Randall a negro Boy named Levin a slave for life now about sixteen years of age the property of the said Weems Ridout To Have and to Hold to the said Randall his executors administrators and assigns Provided always and these presents are upon this condition that if the above named Weems Ridout do and shall pay the interest on the said debt annually from the date of the said bond and the principal of the said Bond at the maturity thereof then and in that case these presents shall be null and void otherwise of no effect. And the said Moses Ridout doth hereby for himself his executors and administrators covenant promise and agree to and with the said Randall his executors administrators and assigns and against every other person or persons will forever warrant and by these presents defend. In Testimony whereof the said Weems Ridout hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first hereinbefore written Signed sealed and delivered in Weems Ridout (seal) presence of Owen M. Taylor State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sct On this thirty first day of December in the year eighteen hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the said County personally appeared Weems Ridout the grantor herein and acknowledges the said instrument of writing as his act and deed Owen M. Taylor At the same time and place personally appears Alexander Randall the Mortgagee and makes oath before me the subscriber that the consideration set forth in the said Ded of Mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set Owen M.
