hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said Richard J. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns the following
property to wit one black cow one red cow with a white stripe down the back one
calf and four shoats all and singular which said cattle and hogs are now remaining
standing and being in a certain messuage or tenement situate in County aforesaid
and now in the occupation of the said Justus Shook   To Have and to Hold all and singular
the said cattel and hogs above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the
said R. J. Duvall his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Justus
Shook for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said cattle
and hogs and other the premises unto the said R. J. Duvall his executors administrators
and assigns against me the said Justus Shook my executors administrators and assigns and
against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents all and every part and parcel of the property as above bargained and sold
or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said R. J. Duvall as aforesaid
    In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this twelfth day of
November eighteen hundred and forty nine
in presents of Moses Donaldson                                                   Justus Shook   (seal)

    State of Maryland An. A. County to wit   On the day and year above written came Justus
Shook before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the above state in and for County
aforesaid and acknowledged the aforegoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed for
the use and purpose therein mentioned and at the same time the parties named in
the aforegoing instrument of writing made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God
that the above instrument of writing was given for a bona fide consideration

Francis Brashears

Edward Reynolds
Know all men by these presents that I Francis Brashears senior of
Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland having drawn my draft
in favor of Richard Brashears for the sum of four hundred and
fifty dollars dated the first day of December eighteen hundred and
and forty nine payable six months after date on J. W. & E. Reynolds commission merchants
of the City of Baltimore and which said draft is to be accepted by them for the purpose of
securing the payment of said sum of money and all costs and charges that may accrue
on the same and in consideration of the sum of five dollars current money to me in
hand paid by the said J. W. & E. Reynolds at or before the sealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto Edward Reynolds of the City of
Baltimore one of the partners of the said firm of J. W. & E. Reynolds his executors and
administrators and assigns all my crop of wheat now growing on my farm in South River
Neck of said County as well as the farm of Jno. W. Waters now rented by me and all my
crop of Tobacco of the present years growth on said farms and now hanging in the Houses
