Anne Arundel County to wit   Be it remembered that on this seventh day of November in the
year eighteen hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber of the state of Maryland a
justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared John H. Somervill party grantor
in the annexed deed or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and
deed                  Acknowledged before           J. W. Hunter

Baltimore County City of Baltimore to wit   Be it remembered that on this twelfth day of
November in the year eighteen hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber a justice
of the peace for the City of Baltimore personally appeared Henry V. D. Johns party grantee
in the annexed deed or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act
and deed   And at the time of making the acknowledgment the said Henry V. D. Johns mortgagee
in the annexed deed of mortgage makes oath before me that the consideration set forth in said
deed of Mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth
                                     Acknowledged and sworn to before      Henry F. Friese

State of Maryland Baltimore County sct   I hereby certify that Henry F Friese Esquire
before whom the annexed acknowledgment & affidavit were made and who has thereto
subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the peace of the State of
Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn
(Seal's)   In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of Baltimore
(Place)   County Court this 12.th day of November A. D. 1849     A. W. Bradford

Anne Arundel County to wit   I certify that Henry V. D. Johns the mortgagee this day paid
three dollars and fifty cents being the duty chargeable by law on this instrument of writing
the receipt whereof is hereon endorsed agreeably to the act of assembly of December
Session 1846 Chapter 61      Given under my hand this 15th day of November 1849

This Indenture made this fourteenth day of November in the
year eighteen hundred and forty nine by William S. Holliday of
Anne Arundel County of the one part and D.r John Ridout of said
County and city of the other part.    Whereas the said William S.
Holliday owes to the President Directors and Company of the Farmers Bank of Maryland
eight hundred dollars on his note discounted by them which had been indorsed by the
said John Ridout this day at four months to secure the payment whereof and any
renewal thereof or substitute therefor in whole or in part he is willing to execute these
presents.   Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said William J. Holliday for and in
consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said John Ridout the
receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge doth grant bargain and sell unto the said
