343 title to the said two negro boys for and during the terms of service they are bound to serve respectively as above stated to wit: until they severally arrive at the age of thirty years To Have and to Hold the said negro boys unto the said Thomas J. Mezick his executors administrators and assigns for and during the aforesaid terms of years respectively And I the said Elijah R Arnold for myself my heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant and agree to warrant and defend the said negroes for the said terms against me the said Arnold my executors administrators and assigns and against all and every person or whatever In Testimony whereof we the said Elijah R. Arnold and Thomas J. Mezick of the said County have hereto set our hands and affixed our seals this twenty fourth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and forty nine Signed sealed and delivered in presence of (the Elijah R. Arnold (seal) words "and delivered") T. W. Stinchcomb Thomas J. Mezick (seal) State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sc Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the said state in and for the County aforesaid personally appear before me the subscriber the above named Elijah R. Arnold and Thomas J. Mezick of the said county and acknowledge the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed And at the same time personally appears the said Thomas J. Mezick and makes oath that the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth J. W. Stinchcomb Recorded on the 24th day of April 1849 ex & del.d cost .75cts paid
said James M. Webb do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Mary E. Woodward her executors administrators and assigns three horses one road wagon and harness & one horse cart & harness one bed bedstead and bedding half dozen chairs one table together with all my household and kitchen furniture now in my possession To Have and to Hold the said described property to the said Mary E Woodward her exetors administrators and assigns forever And I the said James M. Webb for myself my heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid property to the said Mary E Woodward her exetors administrators and assigns against me the said James M. Webb my exetors and administrators and against all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided nevertheless in case I the said James M. Webb shall pay and satisfy to the said Mary E. Woodward unto her exetors and administrators or assigns the sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars current money then this Bill of sale and every other matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect |
