paid by the said Thomas S. McNier at or before the sealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and
delivered and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said
Thomas S. McNier the above described negro woman Charlotte and her two children
negro girl Kate and negro boy William aforesaid   To Have and to Hold all the right
and interest of him the said Randall in and to the said negroes for and during
the aforesaid term of servitude so as aforesaid limited that is to say the said Charlotte
to serve till the nineteenth day of July next and the said Children negro girl
named Kate and negro boy named William to serve until they severally attain the
age of thirty five years to him the said Thomas S. McNier his executors administrators
and assigns   In Witness whereof the said Alexander Randall and Thomas Shepherd
McNier have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day and
year first hereinbefore written

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel COunty sc   Be it remembered that on this third
day of April in the year eighteen hundred and forty nine before me the subscriber
a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland on and for said county personally
appear Alexander Randall and Thomas Shepherd McNier parties grantor and
grantee in the aforegoing deed or instrument of writing and acknowledged the
same to be their act and deed for the purposes therein named

Received April 21 1849 one dollar for stamp duty on this instrument

Elijah R. Arnold
           to
Thomas J. Mezick
Whereas Elijah Redman of Anne Arundel County did by his
last will and testament dated on or about the twenty seventh day
of February eighteen hundred and thirty & proved on or about the
(  one  )    nineteenth day of December eighteen hundred and thirty
(Dollar)    one and recorded in the year office of the Register of
(stamp)
wills of said County manumit and set free negro boy Sam then about four years old and
negro boy Horace then about six years old the sons of negro woman Peg after they
respectively arrive at the age of thirty years then to go free   And whereas the said
Testator gave by his said will the services of the said negroes during their respective
terms of service to Elijah R Arnold who hath held the same by virtue of the said
legacy and hath now sold the said terms of service to Thomas J. Mezick   now Know
all men by these presents that the said Eljah R. Arnold for and in consideration of the sum
of four hundred dollars heretofore in hand paid by the said Thomas J. Mezick of Anne
Arundel County the receipt whereof the said Arnold doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained
sold assigned and transferred and delivered all his the said Arnolds interest right and
