the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted
bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said
Michael B Carroll his executors administrators and assigns one grey horse both
hind feet white about four years old which property is now in my possession   To
Have and to Hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said
Michael B. Carroll his executors administrators and assigns forever to his only proper
use and benefit.  And I the said Samuel Mitchell for myself my executors and administrators
shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the
said Michael B. Carroll his executors administrators and assigns the said described
property against me my executors and administrators and against all and every
other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof   In Testimony
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 9.th day of April 1849

Maryland Prince Georges County sct.   On this 9.th day of April 1849 personally appears
before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid Samuel
Mitchell and acknowledged the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to
the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made
made and provided.   And at the same time and place appears before me Michael
B Carroll the grantee in the said Bill of sale named and made oath that this
consideration set forth in the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein
set forth                     Acknowledged and sworn before      Wm A Quynn   J. P.

Maryland sc   I hereby certify that William A Quynn Esq before whom the aforegoing
deed appears to have been acknowledged and whose name is thereto subscribed
was at the time of taking and subscribing the said acknowledgment one of the
said States Justice of the peace duly commissioned and sworn and that to all his
acts as such full faith and credit is done

    (Place)   seal of Prince Georges County Court this 9th day of April 1849

Know all men by these presents that I William F. Bourke of Anne
Arundel County and state of Maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States in
hand paid by John Wesley Bourke of the County and state aforesaid
at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto
the said John Wesley Bourke his executors administrators and assigns one negro boy
named Joseph aged one year to serve the said John Wesley Bourke his heirs or assigns
until he shall have arrived at the age of thirty five years and then to be released from
service and go free.   To Have and to Hold the said described negro boy Joseph until
