Jim Tom Henson and Nelson all slaves for life and now on the said farms
To Have and To Hold unto the said firm and the Survivors or Survivor of
them and their assigns executors and administrators forever.  Provided
nevertheless that if the said Samuel and Charles or either of them or
either of their Executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and
truly pay the aforesaid debts and save harmless and indemnify the
said John Sullivan and sons for their acceptance as aforesaid and
all costs and expenses incurred thereby at the maturity of the said
draft and within six months from the execution of these presents
then this deed and every matter and thing therein contained
shall be null and void.  In Testimony whereof the said Samuel
Augustus Clagett and Charles Clagett have hereunto set their
hands and affixed their seals this third day of June eighteen
hundred and forty five

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

   State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sc.

    Be it remembered that on this third day of June in the year
eighteen hundred and forty five before me the Subscriber a justice
of the peace of the said State in and for the County aforesaid personally
appear the aforesaid Samuel Augustus Clagett and Charles
Clagett of the County aforesaid and acknowledge the aforegoing
deed or instrument of writing to be their act and deed

William A. Bryan Thomas Denner and Daniel Steven Carnes of
of Anne Arundel County of the one part and Rachel Tydings of
the same County of the other part.  Whereas the said John D Meekins
William A. Bryan Thomas Denver and Daniel Stephen Carnes owe
and stand justly indebted to the said Rachel Tydings in the sum
of six hundred and fifty dollars current money and to secure the
payment thereof are willing to execute these presents.  Now this
