Margaret Osbourn
Know all men by these presents that I Alrick Osburn of Anne Arundel
County in state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum        (   25  )
of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by             (  cent )
Margaret Osburn my wife of Anne Arundel COunty in the state of    (stamp)
Maryland at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the
said Alrick Osburn do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain and sell and deliver unto the said Margaret Osburn my wife
my negro woman Calline slave for life.   To Have and to Hold all and singular the said
negro slave Calline above bargained and sold to the said Margaret Osburn my wife heer
lawful begotten heirs of heer body after marriage to her heer executors administrators and
assigns forever.      In Witness whereof I have hereunto sit my name and fixed my
seal this 22.d day of January 1849                                          his

Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Thos W. Stinchcomb J. P.

Maryland ANne Arundel County to wit:   On this 22.d day of January 1849 before me the subscriber
a justice of the peace in and for said County and state personally appeared Alrick Osburn
and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the
within Bill of sale is true as therein set forth and at the same time and place also appeared
before me Margaret Osburn his wife and made oath that the consideration set forth in
the within Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth.

Know all men by these presents that I Alrick Osbourn of Anne
Arundel County in the state of Maryland for the purpose of complying
with the will and desire of my father John Osbourne that I
should take care of and support his wife (my mother) Area Ann
Osbourne during her natural life as expressed in his last will and testament bearing
date the twenty third day of October one thousand eight hundred and forty six and also
in consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money to me in hand paid by the
said Area Ann Osbourne the receipt whereof the said Alrick Osbourne do hereby acknowledge
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and
sell unto the said Area Ann Osbourne during the term of her natural life negro
man Charles named in said will and negro boy Hezekiah aged about twelve years
bequeathed to me by said will.   To Have and to Hold the said negros Charles and
Hezekiah above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to her the said
Area Ann Osbourne during the term of her natural life.   And I the said Alric
Osbourne for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said
negros Charles and Hezekiah unto the said Area Ann Osbourne during her natural
life against me the said Alric Osbourne my executors and administrators and against
all and every other person or persons whatsoever during the aforementioned term shall and
will warrant and defend by these presents      In Witness whereof I the said Alrick
