Geos Coty Cot Received 8.th April 1848 to be recorded and the same day was recorded in Liber J B B No 5 folio 227 &c one of the Land Record Books of P. G. County & Exam.d by Jno B. Brooke Clk Recorded on the 30.th day of September 1848
as agent as aforesaid in the sum of eighty nine dollars with interest thereon from (Dollar) the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty eight being the balance of rent ( stamp) for the year eighteen hundred and forty seven still due by said Thomas Sherbert for the farm of ^said^ Elias Dorsey now occupied by said Thomas Sherbert And whereas also said Thomas Sherbert has rented said farm for the year eighteen hundred and forty eight of said Wirt as agent as aforesaid at and for the further sum of one hundred dollars payable on or before the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty nine. And whereas also it is the intention of said Thomas Sherbert and Jane Sherbert by these presents to secure to said Wirt as agent as aforesaid the payment of the aforesaid two several sums of money with interest thereon in the manner hereinafter mentioned and described. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Thomas Sherbert and Jane Sherbert for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current money to them in hand paid by the said Wirt as agent as aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Wirt agent as aforesaid his executors administrators and assigns the following personal property in manner following that is to say the said Thomas Sherbert doth hereby grant bargain and sell unto said Wirt agent as aforesaid his executors, administrators |
