301 these presents In Witness whereof the said Charles Fitzhugh Worthington has hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal on the day and year first above written Signed, sealed and delivered in the Cha.s F. Worthington (seal) State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: Be it remembered that on this twenty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, personally appears Charles F. Worthington of Anne Arundel County state of Maryland the party grantor in the within deed or instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County and acknowledges the within deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negroes "slaves for life" therein mentioned and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of the within named Richard C. Mackubin party Grantee his heirs and assigns forever according to the purport true intent and meaning of the within deed or instrument of writing and the acts of assembly in such case made and provided And I do hereby certify that I am satisfied of my own knowledge that Charles Fitzhugh Worthington the party making this acknowledgment is the person named and described as and professing to be the party grantor in the within deed or instrument of writing Acknowledged before and certified by me the subscriber the day and year first herein mentioned Sam.l Gott Recorded on the 25.th day of October 1848 Cost 1.50
I the said James W. Allen do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William Cecil Junior his executors administrators or assigns a certain negro slave called Henry Amar who was bound by one of the City Court of Baltimore at September Term eighteen hundred & forty six to William H. Byrd of Anne Arundel County Maryland and by him sold to James W. Allen of said County and State aforesaid until he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and which said term will expire on the first day of October (1853) eighteen hundred and fifty three the said boy having been convicted at said Sept. term of Baltimore City Court of the Crime of felony. To Have and to Hold the said negro slave Amar above bargained and sold or intended so to be to the said William Cecil Junior his executors administrators or assigns to the said first day of October eighteen hundred and fifty three and no longer. In Witness whereof the said James W. Allen and the said William Cecil Junior have hereto subscribed their names and affixed their seals this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight Witness James W.
