302 Maryland Anne Arundel County sct. Be it remembered that on this twenty sixth day of October eighteen hundred and forty eight personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justices of the peace of the state of Maryland for Anne Arundel County William Cecil Junior and James W. Allen both of Anne Arundel County Maryland and acknowledged the foregoing deed or instrument of writing to be their act and deed and the negro boy Amar therein named to be the right and estate of the said William Cecil Junior party grantee therein named according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof. And I certify that the said William Cecil Junior and James W. Allen are known to me as the identical persons named as purchaser and grantee on said deed or instrument of writing Acknowledged before and certified by J W Hunter Recorded on the 26.th day of October 1848 Delivered to James Cecil 1.st April 1851 Cost $1.00
the said John G. Nichols a negro girl named Mary Balson who was conveyed to me by a certain Thomas J Stockett by deed bearing date the fourteenth day of January eighteen hundred and thirty six and recorded in Liber W. S. G. No 1 folios 443 &c one of the personal estate record Books of Anne Arundel County reference being thereto had will more full appear which said negro was to serve the said Prout under and in virtue of said deed until she attained the age of thirty five years. To Have and to Hold the said negro girl so described as aforesaid to the said John G. Nichols his executors administrators and assigns for and during the period of servitude in the said deed mentioned In Witness whereof the said William Prout and John G. Nicholas have hereto set their hands and seals this 14.th day of Nov 1848 Signed sealed & delivered in the John G. Nichols (seal) presence of J W Hunter his William x Prout (seal) mark State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sct On this fourteenth day of November eighteen hundred and forty eight before me the subscriber a justice of the peace of the said State in and for said County personally appear William Prout and John G. Nichols and acknowledge the foregoing instrument of writing to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned J. W. Hunter Recorded on the 16.th day of November 1848
