3 thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Recorded the first day of March 1845 S. H. Dorsett State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Know all men by these presents that I William Davis of Friendship in Anne Arundle County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars current money to me in hand paid by Philip D Sutton of the village in the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Philip D. Sutton his executors Administrators and assigns one riding horse Black mare years nine about fourteen hands high three white feet and a white slip on the nose short tail which property is now in my possession. To Have and To Hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Philip D. Sutton his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit and I the said William Davis for myself my executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof will hereafter warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five Signed Sealed and delivered William Davis (seal) in the presence of Witness Lewis Sutton Sr Patrick H Buckley State of M.d A. A. C.t To wit On this 13.th day of February 1845 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for the State and County aforesaid appeared William Davis and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the property therein named to be the right and estate of the therein named Philip D. Sutton upon the condition therein declared as Collateral security for the money therein mentioned And no other according to the true intent and meaning of the same And the Acts of Assembly in such case as made and provided Ex d d Paid Recorded the 18.th day of February 1845 Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton This Indenture made this eleventh day of February eighteen hundred and forty five between William Lomax of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland of the one part and Thomas J. Hall and Charles W. Hall trading under the name style and firm of Thomas J. Hall & son |
