282. by these presents Provided Nevertheless, that in case I the said Thomas Chaney shall pay and satisfy to the said Stevens Gambrill or to his Executors administrators or assigns the sum of sixty five dollars and fifty cents with interest for the same on or before the first day of June 1849. Then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of non effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof, that the said crops of Corn and tobacco are mortgaged by me the said Thomas Chaney to secure to the said Stevens Gambrill the payment of the money aforesaid In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Chaney have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 26.th day of June 1848. Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Thomas Chaney (Seal) Joshua Anderson William A. Gover Maryland Anne Arundel County To wit On this 26.th day of June 1848 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears Thomas Chaney and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Witness my hand Joshua Anderson J. P. Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc.t On this 26.th June 1848 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County appears Stevens Gambrill and makes Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the foregoing Bill of sale is in good faith for the consideration therein expressed Sworn before Joshua Anderson J.
