N. B.  the interlining words between the tenth and Eleventh lines (and said
Lauras Increase) were inserted previously to the acknowledgement thereof
and the words between 10 & 11 lines fifteenth of November last and the alteration
in the 11 line (word six) and also in the 13.th line word five) also in the 15.th line (word
five were made in the presence of the Parties and at their request 9.th May 1848.

State of Maryland      Baltimore City to wit

On this 12.th day of April 1848 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace
of the State of Maryland in and for the City aforesaid personally appears
M.rs James W. Burke and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty
God that the consideration money mentioned in the within Bill of Sale
has been bona fide Paid

I hereby Certify That Henry R. Robbins Esquire before whom the annexed acknowledgment
and affidavit was made and who has thereto subscribed his mane was
at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for
the City of Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn.
                      In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of Baltimore
       (Seal)            County Court this 13.th day of April A. D. 1848.

Know all men by these presents That I Rhetillah
Burke of Anne Arundel County and state
of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of
One dollar lawful money of the United States, in
hand paid by William F. Burke of the County and state aforesaid at or before
the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, Have Granted bargained and sold, and by these presents
do grant, bargain and sell unto the said William F. Burke his Executors,
Administrators and assigns   One Negro Woman named Kitty aged
thirty Four years and all her increase to serve unto she shall arive to
the age of Forty Five years and then to go free also her two boy children
