258. stuff, unto the said John S. Armiger his executors administrators and assigns, to his and their own use and behoof. Provided always and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents that if the said Willie Anne Parker do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John S. Armiger his Executors administrators or assigns, the full sum of Six hundred dollars current money with legal interest for the same from the date of these presents on or before the first day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty two then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding. And the said Willie Anne Parker for herself her executors and administrators and for every of them, doth covenant promise and agree, to and with the said John S. Armiger his executors administrators and assigns, by these presents, that she the said Willie Anne Parker her heirs executors or administrators shall and will, well and truly pay or cause to be paid, unto the said John S. Armiger his executors, administrators or assigns the said sum of six hundred dollars current money together with interest for the same from the date of these presents, after the rate aforesaid, at such time and after such manner as hereinbefore set forth and agreed for the payment thereof And the said John S. Armiger for himself, his heirs, Executors and administrators, doth covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said Willie Anne Parker her executors, administrators, that he the said John S. Armiger his executors administrators or assigns shall and will immediately upon receipt of the said sum of $600 (six hundred dollars) and interest as aforesaid at the day and time limited for payment thereof deliver transfer and sell unto the said Willie Anne Parker, her executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid negro man named Lewis Parker as a slave for life. And it is further covenanted promised and agreed by and between the said Willie Anne Parker and John S. Armiger, that the aforesaid negro man shall remain in the possession and service of the said John S. Armiger who shall receive the hire for his services, which hire shall be applied to the gradual payment of the said sum of six hundred dollars, so covenanted to be paid as aforesaid by the said Willie Anne Parker to the said John S. Armiger as far as said hire will go towards the satisfaction of the same and interest thereon, and that the said Willie Anne Parker shall pay to the said John S. Armiger on the day and at the time herein before limited, the balance only of said six hundred dollars which shall remain due after the application as aforesaid thereto |
