other person or persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant and forever defend
by these presents  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and
seal this Eighth day of February Eighteen hundred and forty Eight

Be it remembered that on this Eighth day of February 1848
before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County appears the
above named John H Urquehart and acknowledge the above
instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent
and meaning thereof

Bill of Sale from Dorsey Jacob
                         To
         Robert Hall
Know all Men by these presents That
I Dorsey Jacob of Anne Arundel County
and state of maryland, for and in consideration
of the sum of forty dollars lawful money
of the United States to me in hand paid by Robert Hall, colered man
of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have
granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents Do grant bargain
and sell, unto the said Robert Hall, colored man his executors
administrators and assigns one negro Girl, daughter of the said Hall
named Adeline" aged about four years to be free at thirty one years of age
according to the last will and testament of Charles Waters late of the
City of Baltimore deceased.  This negro Girl was bought by me the said Dorsey
Jacob at the sale of the personal Estate of said Charles Waters which may
be known by reference to Liber J. H. N. N.o 1 folio 166 one of the personal
deed record books of Anne Arundel County where it will also more
fully appear when and by virtue of what authority the said negro Girl is
entitled to her freedom.  To Have and to hold the said negro Girl Adeline
for the term of years specified above, but no longer to the said Robert
Hall his executors, administrators and assigns
In Witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seals this
28th day of January Eighteen hundred and forty Eight
