and all other Household furniture at and in his dwelling
To Have and To Hold the said described stock Chattels and effects to the
said Henry Handy his Executors Administrators and assigns forever and
I the said John Smith for myself my Heirs Executors and administrators the
said Stock Chattels and effects unto the said Henry Handy his Executors
administrators and assigns, against me the said John Smith his Executors
and administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever
shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents
In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this nineteenth
day of January Eighteen Hundred and forty Eight
Signed sealed and delivered
       in the presence of                  John Smith      (Seal)

Be it Remembered  That on this Nineteenth day of January 1848,
before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said state and County appears
John Smith and acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be
his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof at
the same time appears Henry Handy, grantees and made Oath on the
Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the consideration set forth in the
above bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set fourth

I John H. Urquehart of Anne
Arundel County State of Maryland
for and in consideration of the sum
of Fifty Dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid
by Henry Marion Urquehart of the County and state aforesaid
at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained and sold and by
these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Marion Urquehart
his Executors administrators and assigns my negro Boy named
Frederick aged six months Old a slave for life light complexion
To Have and to Hold the said described negro Boy Frederick to the
said Henry Marion Urquehart, his Executors administrators and
assigns forever and I the said John H. Urquehart for myself and for my
Heirs Executors and administrators the said negro Boy Frederick unto
the said Henry Marion Urquehart his Executors administrators and
assigns against my Executors & administrators and against all and every
