Mortgage from Robert
            F. Bonsall
                  To
Richard W. Gill
Know all men by these presents That whereas
Robert F. Bonsall has purchased of Richard W.
Gill Executor of George Johnston various articles
belonging to the printing Establishment of the said
George, particularly enumerated in the Bill of
Parcels rendered by said Gill to the said Bonsall and to be enumerated in
the Sales to be rendered by said Gill to the Orphans Court of Anne Arundel
County, the same including printing and standing presses various kinds
of type cases fixtures and printing apparatus and paper amounting
in the whole to the sum of five hundred Eighty One Dollars ant stwenty seven
cents and at twelve months credit  And whereas the said Gill is about
to become the said Bonsalls security for the purchase of other paper type
and Ink or to give him a credit with the venders of such articles in
Baltimore for a sum not exceeding five hundred Dollars   now these
presents further witness that the said Bonsall in consideration of the
premises aforesaid and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell
and assign unto him the said Richard W. Gill all and singular all
the goods and chattels presses type furniture paper and printing apparatus
of him the said Bonsall in and upon the printing office and house now occupied
by him the said Bonsall in the City of Annapolis situate on the state House circle
and which he the said Bonsall now rents from the said Gill as Executor aforesaid
at the rate of one hundred Dollars per Annum and all and singular
all and every the goods chattels and effects of him the said Bonsall
which may hereafter be placed in the said Printing office whether as substitutes
or not of the goods and effects now there and all work claims
and demands of him the said Bonsall which may accrue in consequence
of or have relation to work done in said office.  To Have and to Hold the
same unto him the said Richard W. Gill his Executors administrators
and assigns to and for their sole use and behoof provided that if the said
Bonsall shall pay for the goods and effects purchased by him the said
Gill as Executor aforesaid and shall pay as they become due all debts
contracts and purchases of his for which the said Gill may have become
bound as aforesaid and indemnify and save harmless the said Gill in
all respects for liabilities to the extent aforesaid incurred by said Gill for said
Bonsall, then this Bill of Sale shall be null and void, Otherwise of full
force and effect
    In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my
seal this Fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand
Eight hundred and forty seven
