Bill of Sale from
Bennet M. Thomas
             to
Samuel Thomas
Know all men by these presents that I Bennett
M. Thomas of Anne Arundel County in the state of
Maryland for and in consideration of my being indebted,
to Samuel Thomas of the same County and
State on Judgment for Twenty nine dollars and
Costs with Interest from January 29.th 1842 and on Note of hand for the sum
of Forty eight dollars with interest thereon from the 19.th day of February 1841
and also in consideration of the sum of One dollar in hand by the said
Samuel Thomas at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof I the said Bennett M Thomas do hereby acknowledge,
have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain,
and sell, unto the said Samuel Thomas, his executors administrators
and assigns the following described property all of which is known in
my possession to wit   One bay Mare called Kit One Bay mare called
Eliza about seven years of age, one Sorrel Mare Colt three years of age
four feather beds steads and furniture and the rest of my house hold
and Kitchen furniture   To Have and To Hold all and Singular the
Said horses and the other property above mentioned and above bargained
and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Samuel Thomas
his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Bennett
M. Thomas for myself my heirs executors and administrators, all and singular,
the said above described property unto the said Samu.l Thomas his Executors,
administrators and assigns, against me the said Bennet M.
Thomas, my Executors and administrators, and against all and every
other person or persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant and forever
defend by these presents of all and singular which horses and other property,
I the said Bennett M Thomas have, put the said Samuel Thomas
in full possession by delivering to him the said Samuel Thomas the before
mentioned Bay Mare Kit at the Sealing and delivering of these presents
in the name of the whole property hereby bargained and sold, or mentioned
and intended to be so, unto him the said Samuel Thomas as aforesaid
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
Seal this twenty second day of September Eighteen hundred and forty
