Whereas the said D.r John Ridout hath agreed to endorse two notes for the said George W. Wright the one to be drawn this day by the said Wright for fifty dollars and the other to be drawn at some time hereafter by the same party for the same sum both to be discounted at the Farmers Bank of Maryland And Whereas the said Wright is desirous of securing the said Ridout from all loss which may accrue to him the said Ridout by reason of his endorsements of said notes or of any renewals thereof or substitutes therefor and to indemnify him in the event of such loss and for the purpose of so securing and indemnifying him the said Ridout is desirous of Executing these presents Now This Indenture witnesseth that the said George W. Wright for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars current money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said Ridout at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said D.r John Ridout his heirs and assigns forever the following articles of House hold Furniture now in the possession of the said Wright and in the house now occupied by him lying in Green Street in the City of Annapolis viz One pair of Mahogany tables one small Cherry table half a dozen cane bottomed chairs One half dozen Green painted chairs One Bed bedstead mattrass and furniture one looking Glass one rocking chair Wash stand basin and pitcher, one carpet One cradle and two table covers To Have and To Hold the aforesaid articles of House hold Furniture, unto him the said D.r John Ridout his heirs and assigns forever to and for his and their only proper use and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose Now the Condition of the above Deed is such, and these presents are expressly upon this condition, that if the said George W. Wright, his heirs or assigns shall well and truly indemnify and save harmless the said Dr John Ridout from all risk of loss consequent upon his Endorsement of said notes or any renewals thereof or substitutes therefor, then and in that case these presents and every matter |
