Stamp 10 Cents
Know all men by these presents that I James W. Cox
of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland

Bill of Sale from James W. Cox
                           to
Robert G. Pindell
for and in consideration of the sum of one
hundred and Seventy four dollars current money
to me in hand paid by Robert G. Pindell of the
County and State aforesaid at or before the ensealing
and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof
I the said James W. Cox do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Robert
G. Pindell his executors administrators and assigns One black horse
six years old One bay horse eight years old One yoke of oxen four years
old one spotted Cow six years old and two feather beds and now in my possession
To Have and to Hold the said described horses, Oxen, Cow and beds
to the said Robert G. Pindell his executors administrators and assigns forever
And I the said James W Cox for myself my heirs executors and administrators
the aforesaid horses, Oxen, Cow and beds to the said Robert G. Pindell
his executors administrators and assigns, against me the said James W.
Cox my executors and administrators, and against all and every person
and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents, Provided nevertheless, that in case I the said James W. Cox shall
and do secure and defend the said Robert G. Pindell his heirs executors and
administrators against loss and damage by means of his the said Robert G.
Pindells suretyship to John Wood in the sum of one hundred and seventy
four dollars with the interest thereon on or before the fifteenth day of January
next ensuing, then this bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein
expressed, shall be void and of none effect, it being the true intent
and meaning thereof that the said described horses Oxen Cow and beds
is Mortgaged by me the said James W Cox to secure the said Robert G.
Pindell against loss or danger by means of his securityship as aforesaid
       In Witness whereof I the said James W. Cox have hereunto set my
hand and affixed my seal the Twenty fourth day of September One
thousand eight hundred and forty seven

    Robert S. D. Jones
                                  Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

On this Twenty fourth day of September One thousand eight hundred
and forty seven before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said
County appears James W. Cox and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be
his act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the
act of assembly in such case made and provided, And I do also certify
