Bill of Sale
Whereas I William H. Stewart of Anne Arundel
County Maryland are justly indebted to my mother
Louisa Stewart in the full and just sum of Three hundred
dollars on my notes to her the first day April 5.th 1844
for One hundred dollars the second dated on October
1845 for Ninety dollars the third dated April 2.d 1846 for Sixty dollars and
the fourth dated March 27.th 1847 for fifty dollars all being over interest from
date and whereas I shall be also indebted to Elijah R. Arnold of Anne
Arundel County at the end of the year in the sum of seventy dollars for
rent which my said mother has assumed to pay when due
Now Know all men by these presents that I the said William H. Stewart
for and in consideration of the said debts and assumption to Elijah R Arnold
as stated above and in further consideration of the sum of five dollars to
me in hand paid by the said Louisa Stewart at or before the sealing and
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell to the said Louisa Stewart her Executors Administrators and
assigns all the property and effects herein after particularly mentioned that
is to say One black Horse One nankeene coloured mare One yoke of broken
Oxen Two bull yearlings eight hed of hogs One Ox Cart three beds and
furniture One bureau three tables six chairs one clock One Cow and
the Crop of Corn and fodder now growing on the farm on which I live
estimated at forty to fifty barrels all and singular which said property
and effects are now demanding standing and being on the farm now occupied
by me   To Have and to hold all and singular which said property and
effects above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the
said Louisa Stewart her Executors Administrators or assigns forever and
I the said William H. Stewart for myself my Heirs Executors and administrators
all and singular the said property and effects unto the said
Louisa Stewart her Executors administrators and assigns against we
the said William H Stewart my Executors and administrators and against
all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant
and forever defend by these presents
          In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal
this thirtieth day of august in the year Eighteen hundred and forty
seven
