Be it remembered.  That On this Twenty first day of May 1847 before the
Subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said County appears F. G. Waters Ex.r
as aforesaid and James Clark and acknowledges the above Instrument
of Writing to be their Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning
thereof

    Owen Cecil

Know all Men by These Presents That I Freeborn G Waters Executor
of Charles Waters dece.d of Baltimore City and State of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of Seven hundred and Eighty five dollars lawful money
of the United States secured by note to be paid by Owen Cecil of Anne Arundel
County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said
Owen Cecil his Executors Administrators and assigns One Negro Boy named
Jesse about fifteen years of age to be free first day of May Eighteen
hundred and sixty seven (1867) and One Negro Boy named "Sam" about
Twelve years old to be free first day of May Eighteen hundred and seventy
four (1874) of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore
dec.d as slaves for the respective terms above mentioned and thereafter to be
free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect
of the last Will and Testament of the said dec.d the said negroes
being sold by me and conveyed as Executor and in virtue of the power and
authority vested in me by said last Will and Testament
To Have and To Hold the said described Negroes Jesse & Sam for the
Terms of years above mentioned but no longer to the said Owen Cecil his
Executors Administrators and Assigns as aforesaid
