Bill of Sale from John
W. Duvall
           To
John S. Sellman
Know all men by these presents that John
M. Duvall of Anne Arundel County and state
of Maryland, for and in consideration of the
sum of fifteen dollars current money and also
fifteen barrels of Corn value of sixty dollars current
money making together seventy five dollars to me in hand paid
by John S. Sellman of the County and state aforesaid, at and before the sealing
and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof I the said John M. Duvall
do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said John S. Sellman his executors administrators and
assigns, all of my crop of tobacco of the growth of the year Eighteen hundred and forty six
supposed to be about four thousand pounds, all and singular which said tobacco is now
in my possession.  To Have and to hold all and singular the tobacco above bargained and
sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said John S Sellman his Executors, administrators
and assigns forever, and I the said John M. Duvall for myself my heirs
Executors and administrators all and singular the said tobacco unto John S. Sellman
his Executors and Administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever
shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which
said tobacco I the said John M. Duvall have
In Witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal the fourth day of May
in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty Seven

Maryland, Anne arundel County to wit

       On this fourth day of May Eighteen hundred and forty seven before me one of
the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears John M. Duvall and
acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his Act and deed according to the
true intent and meaning thereof, and the Act of assembly in such case made
and provided
