administrators or assigns the said sum of one hundred and twenty dollars
being the joint amount of the two aforesaid recited notes or obligations
without any manner of deduction according to the true meaning
thereof and of these presents that then these presents and every thing
herein contained shall cease be void and of none effect anything herein
contained to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding.  In
witness whereof the said John Dougherty hath hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written

Be it remembered that on this twenty first day of April in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven before the Subscriber
of the State of Maryland a justice of the peace for Anne Arundel County
personally appeared John Dougherty party grantor in the annexed
instrument of writing and acknowledges the same to be his act
and deed I also certify that I know of my own knowledge the said
John Dougherty mentioned in said deed as party grantors and who
bargained said deed as such to be the same persons who makes this
acknowledgment                                      Acknowledged before

Bill of sale from Henry Mayndier
to Henry Purdy & Galen Purdy dated the
27.th day of April 1847
Know all men by these
presents that I Henry
Maynadier of Anne
Arundel County in the
State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred
dollars to me in hand paid by Henry Purdy and Galen Purdy
of said County and State at or before the sealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof I the said Henry Maynadier do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said Henry Purdy and Galen Purdy their
executors administrators and assigns or certain negro woman and Slave
named Louisa supposed to be about twenty five years of age and
certain other negro children of Louisa viz Aaron supposed to be six
or seven years of age Solomon supposed to be two or three years of age
and an infant Grace supposed to be four months of age.  To Have and To Hold
the said Negro Woman named Louisa and her said Children named Aaron
Solomon and Grace above bargained and sold or intended as to be to the said
Henry Purdy and Galen Purdy their Executors administrators and assigns forever
