17 thousand eight hundred and forty five his Witness W.m Glover George W. x Cook (seal) mark At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this fifteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty five before the subscriber one of the Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed Ex d d Taken and certified on the day and year aforesaid costs 56¼ Before W.m Glover Paid Recorded the 15.th day of April 1845.
and Mary Meekins of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold & by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said John D. Meekins and Mary meekins their executors administrators and assigns one negroe man Henry and one half of a schooner called & known by the name of the Sarah Ann Webster all of which property is now in possession to have and hold the same described property to John D Meekins and Mary Meekins as above bargained and sold to the aforesaid John D Meekins and Mary Meekins their Executors administrators and assigns forever to their only proper use and benefit and we the said Leslie M Stewart and Elizabeth Caroline Stewart for ourselves their heirs Executors and administrators shall and will warrant & forever defend by these presents to the said John D Meekins and Mary Meekins their Executors administrators and assigns the said described property against us our executors administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof now it is understood and agreed upon by the said parties that the property is mortgaged by us to secure the said John D Meekins & Mary Meekins in the payment of the sum of nine hundred dollars current money with interest for the same from the date of bonds Given to Frank H Stockett as the trustee of the sale of the real estate of Samuel Davis heirs which the true intent & meaning of these presents is that when the said Leslie M Stewart and Elizabeth Caroline his wife shall have paid the Trustee the principal & interest so as aforesaid then & every matter and thing expressed in this |
