168 is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Hardesty Senr his Executors administrators and assigns one negro girl named Minty aged about eight years of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore dec.d as a Slave to serve until the first day of May eighteen hundred and seventy three (1873) and thereafter to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will and testament of the said dec.d the said negro Girl being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and in virtue of the power & authority vested in me by said last will and testament To Have and To Hold the said described Negro Girl Minty for the term of years aforesaid but no longer to the sid Henry Hardesty sen his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the thirtieth day of January eighteen hundred and forty Signed sealed and delivered F G. Waters Exr in the presence of Joshua Stewart of C Waters (seal) H. Hardisty (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County S S Be it remembered that on this thirtieth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said County appears F. G. Waters Exr as aforesaid & Henry Hardesty senr and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the 8.th day of February 1847 Joshua Stewart costs 78½
the United States secured by note to be paid by Joshua Stewart of Anne Arundel County & State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joshua Stewart his Executors administrators and assigns one negro boy aged about four years of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore named Zach as a slave to serve until he arrives at the age of thirty five years and thereof to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will and testament of the said dec.d The said negro Boy Zach being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and in virtue of the power & authority vested in me by said last will and Testament.
