167 thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the second day of February 1847 Joshua Stewart paid Ex d d (State of Maryland stamp)
the United States in hand paid by Augustus Shriver of Carroll County in the State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Augustus Shriver his Executors administrators and assigns one negro woman named Lee aged about twenty years to be free first day of May eighteen and sixty (1860) and one negro Girl named Ritty about three years old to be free when she arrives at the age of thirty one years of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore decd as slaves to serve for the terms above stated and thereafter to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will & testament of the said dec.d The said negroes being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and now in virtue of the power and authority vested in me by said last will and testament To Have and To Hold the said described woman Lee & Ritty for the terms above mentioned but no longer to the said Augustus Shriver his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this thirtieth day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven Signed Sealed and delivered F G. Waters Exr (seal) in the presence of Joshua Stewart of Chas Waters decd At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Augustus Shriver (seal) State of Maryland Anne Arundel County SS. Be it remembered that on this thirtieth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said appears F G. Waters Exr as aforesaid & Augustus Shriver and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the sixth day of February 1847 Joshua Stewart
