163 of age Charlotte about three years of age and Lucy about two years of age To Have and To Hold the said female slaves unto the said John Yealdhall his executors administrators and assigns from the day of the date of these presents as follows Julian until the eighth day of March eighteen hundred and sixty two Charlotte until the fifth day of May eighteen hundred and eighty and Lucy until the second day of September eighteen hundred and eighty one and no longer And be it further known that from and after the said last mentioned day in each case and to date and take effect from and upon the same and not before I hereby for divers good and sufficient causes and considerations me thereunto moving man until release from slavery and servitude liberate and set free the said female slaves named Julian Charlotte and Lucy and them the said female slaves I declare to be thenceforth freed manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude whatsoever to me my executors administrators or assigns In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of December eighteen hundred and forty six her Signed sealed and delivered Mary x Rockhold (seal) in presence of us Henry C. Dunbar J. P William T. Rockhold At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct Be it remembered that on this twenty ninth day of December eighteen hundred and forty six before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said State in and for said County duly commissioned and sworn personally appeared Mary Rockhold she being known unto me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the aforegoing Indenture and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed. In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year above written Henry C. Dunbar Recorded January 29.th 1847 costs 75 cts Paid (State of Maryland stamp) ( one )
States in hand paid by William Shipley of Anne Arundle County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William |
