paid by Oliver P. Stevenson of the City and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Oliver P. Stevenson his Executors administrators and assigns one negro Girl named Dinah aged about eleven years of the property of Charles Waters decd late of the City of Baltimore as a slave to serve until the first day of May eighteen hundred and sixty eight (1868) and thereafter to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will and testament of the said dec.d The said negro Girl being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and in virtue of the power and authority vested in me by said last will & testament. To Have and To Hold the said described Negro Girl Dinah for the term of years aforesaid but no longer to the said Oliver P. Stevenson his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this sixth day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven Signed sealed and delivered F. G. Waters Exr (seal) in the presence of Joshua Stewart of Chas Waters At the foot of the foregoing was thus written O. P Stevenson (seal) to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County SS. Be it remembered that on this sixth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said County appears Freeborn G Waters Exr as aforesaid & Oliver P. Stevenson and acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the 16.th day of January 1847 Joshua Stewart costs 2½ paid (State of Maryland stamp) ( one )
secured by note to be paid by Joseph Pearson of Baltimore County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof |
