County personally appeared Elizabeth Merriken she being known to me
to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be the party
grantor deed or Indenture and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or
instrument of writing to be her act and deed.  In Testimony whereof
I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid

and fifty dollars ($550.00) in full payment for negro Allen a slave for
life

Know all men by these presents that I Freeborn G Waters                 (State of Maryland stamp)
Executor of Charles Waters decd of Baltimore City and State            (               one                 )
of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and   (               Dol                 )
five dollars in hand paid by Henry A. Inloes of the City and State aforesaid
at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Inloes his Executors administrators
and assigns one negro Girl named Margarett about
seven years of age of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of
Baltimore decd as a slave until she arrives at the aged of thirty one years
and thereafter to be free and discharged rom all servitude agreeably to
the form and effect of the last will & Testament of the said dec.d  The said
negro girl being sold & conveyed by me as executor and in virtue of the power
and authority vested in me by said last will and testament.  To Have and
To Hold the said described Negro Girl Margarett for the term of years
aforesaid but no longer to the said Henry Inloes his Executors administrators
and assigns as aforesaid.  In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and seals this sixth day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven

in the presence of Joshua Stewart                     of Chas Waters decd

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit   Henry A. Inloes   (seal)
State of Maryland  Anne Arundel County st  Be it remembered that on
this sixth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace
for said County appears F. G Waters exr as aforesaid & Henry Inloes and
acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed
according to the true intent and meaning thereof
