158 is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Pearson his Executors administrators and assigns one negro Girl named Thener aged about twelve years to be free first day of May eighteen hundred and sixty eight (1868) and one negro Boy named Rezin aged about eight years to be free first day of May eighteen hundred and seventy four (1874) of the property of Charles Waters late of Baltimore City dec.d as slaves to serve the respective terms above dated & thereafter to be free and discharged from all servitude agreeably to the form & effect of the last will & testament of the said decd the said negroes being sold & conveyed by me as Executor & in virtue of the power and authority vested in me by said Thener & Rezin for the terms of years aforesaid but no longer to the said Joseph Pearson his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this sixth day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven Signed sealed and delivered F. G. Waters Exr in the presence of Joshua Stewart of Chas Waters (seal) Jos Pearson (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Ss Be it remembered that on this sixth day of January 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said County appears F. G. Waters exr as aforesaid & Joseph Pearson and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Recorded the 18.th day of January 1847 Joshua Stewart ex & del.d Oct 28th 1847 to J Pearson & son (State of Maryland stamp) ( 15 )
in hand paid by Absalom A Hall of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Absalom A. Hall his Executors administrators and assigns my negro woman Priscilla and her two Children named Eliza Ann and George all which property is now in my possession to have and to hold the described property above bargained and sold to the said Absalom A. Hall his Executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper |
