153 for the consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by Frederick Parker a free man of colour of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered by these presents do bargain grant sell and deliver unto the said Frederick Parker a negro woman named Peggy about fifty five years old wife of the said Frederick Parker and her two children one named James about nine years old and the other named Susan about six years old which negro Woman Peggy and her two children James and Susan I will warrant and defend to the said Frederick Parker his Executors administrators and assigns against me my Executors and administrators and against every other person or persons whomsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and my name this thirty first day of December eighteen hundred and forty six in the presence of Henry Maynadier (seal) W.m Glover At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct On this 31.st day of December 1846 personally appears Henry Maynadier before the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for the State and County aforesaid. He being the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the aforegoing deed or Indenture and doth acknowledge the said deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed. In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name the day and year aforesaid Acknowledged before Recorded the 7.th day of January 1847 W.m Glover costs cts paid
and twenty dollars lawful money of the United States secured by note to be paid Richard J Worthington of Baltimore County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard J Worthington his Executors administrators and assigns one negro man named Anthony aged about nineteen years of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore decd as a slave to serve until the first day |
