152 consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Richard Weedon of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Elizabeth Merriken do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Weedon his executors administrators and assigns one negro woman named Sarah whose term of servitude shall be fifteen years from the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven. To Have and To Hold the said negro Sarah above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Richard Weedon his executors administrators and assigns and I the said Elizabeth Merriken for myself my heirs executors and administrators the said negro Sarah unto the said Richard Weedon his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Elizabeth Merriken my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents the said negro Sarah I the said Elizabeth Merriken have put the said Richard Weedon in full possession by delivering to him the said Richard Weedon the said negro Sarah at the sealing and delivering of the presents in the name of the premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said Richard Weedon as aforesaid. In Testimony whereof the said Elizabeth Merriken and the said Richard Weedon have hereunto set their hands and seals on this 16.th day of December 1846 Signed Sealed and delivered Elizabeth Merriken (seal) in the presence of Thos N. Pindle Richard Weedon (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this 16.th day December 1846 before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared Elizabeth Merriken and Richard Weedon they being known to me to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the parties to the foregoing deed or Indenture and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or instrument of writing to be their act and deed.
