possession by delivering to him the said Thomas T. Terry one chair at the
sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole premises
hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the
said Thomas T. Terry as aforesaid.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this 16.th day of December 1846     his

Mezick Bill of sale dated the
21.st day of December 1846

these presents that  (                 Dol                 )
I Elizabeth Merriken of Anne
Arundel County in the State of
Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred
dollars current money to me in hand paid by Thomas J. Mezick of the
County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of
these presents the receipt whereof I the said Elizabeth Merriken do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas J Mezick his Executors
administrators and assigns one negro man named Andrew whose term
of servitude shall be five years from the first day of January eighteen
hundred and forty seven and at the expiration of which term of
servitude be the said negro Andrew shall be free and other negro
Boy named Charles whose term of servitude shall be fourteen years
from the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty seven
and at the expiration of which term of servitude he the said
negro boy Charles shall be free.  To Have and To Hold the above said negroes
Andrew and Charles for the respective specified terms of years above
bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Thomas
J Mezick his Executors administrators and assigns  And I the said Elizabeth
Merriken for myself my heirs executors and administrators the
abovesaid negroes Andrew and Charles as above described unto the said
Thomas J Mezick his executors administrators and assigns against
me the said Elizabeth Merriken my executors and administrators
and and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever
shall and will warrant and defend by these presents of the said
negroes Andrew and Charles I the said Elizabeth Merriken have put
the said Thomas J Mezick in full possession by delivering to him the
said Thomas J Mezick the said negroes Andrew and Charles at the
sealing and delivering of these presents hereby bargained and sold
or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said Thomas J Mezick
