the said John Carr his executors and administrators the following personal
property now in the possession of the said Robert H Carr to wit one negro
man named Nace aged thirty five years one negro man named Isaac
aged thirty five years one negro boy named Bill aged sixteen years one negro
woman named Rachel aged fifty years one negro woman named Jane
aged twenty five years one negro Girl named Isabella or Fint aged Eighteen
years all slaves for life formerly the maiden property of the said Sarah D Carr
to have and to hold the above named negroes and their increase unto the
said John Carr his Executors and administrators in trust nevertheless
to and for the uses and purposes following that is to say in trust and
for the use and benefit of Sarah D Carr wife of the said Robert for and
during her natural life and thereafter in further trust for her child or
children living at the time of her death without any controul to be carried
over the same by her said husband Robert and the true thereof to
be paid to her the said Sarah D Carr for which she is hereby authorised to give
receipts and acquittances as if a feme sole and in case the said Sarah D
Carr dies leaving a child or children then the above named negroes and
their increase shall be held by the said John Carr aforesaid in trust for the
said child or children living at the time of the death of the said Sarah D
Carr and in case none of the said children of the said Sarah D Carr attain
the age of twenty one years then the said John Carr shall hold the said negroes
and their increase in trust for the said Robert his executors administrators
and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof the said Robert H Carr hath
hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first herein
before written

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct

Be it remembered that on this twelfth day of September in the year
of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty six personally appears Robert H.
Carr of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland the party grantor
within named before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace of the state
of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County and acknowledges
the within deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed according
to the purport true intent and meaning of the said deed or instrument
of writing and I do also certify that I am satisfied of my own knowledge
that the said Robert H Carr the person making this acknowledgment
is the person named and described as and professing to be the party
grantor in the aforegoing deed or instrument of writing
