111 whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James J. Gray his executors administrators and assigns the following property to wit two gray horses one bay horse one yoke of oxen three cows all my farming utensils all my household and kitchen furniture and all my crop of tobacco now in the house all which property is now in my possession To Have and To Hold the said described property above bargained and sold to the said James J. Gray his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit and I the said John G. O'Hara for myself my heirs executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said James J. Gray his executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof Provided nevertheless that in case I the said John G. O'Hara shall pay and satisfy unto the said James J. Gray or to his executors administrators or assigns the said sum of three hundred and eighty three dollars and forty six cents on or before the fourth day of June one thousand eight hundred and forty nine then this bill of sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property is morgaged by me the said John G O'Hara to secure to the said James J. Gray the payment of the money aforesaid. In Testimony whereof I the said John G. O'Hara have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of June 1846 Witness Gassaway Winterson John G. OHara (seal) "The words all my farming utensils being interlined before signing the same" At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit Maryland A. A. Coty to wit On this 4.th day of June 1846 before me one of the Justices of the peace of the County aforesaid appeared John G.
