McDowell of Calvert County and State aforesaid at and before the
sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin McDowell his
Executors administrators and assigns one sorrel horse about seven
or eight years old and one lite four wheel Waggon with a top to ride
in commonly called Jersey wagon all now in my possession  To Have
and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the
said Benjamin McDowell his Executors administrators and
assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit and I
the said John H. Urquehart & fro myself my executors and administrators
shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents to the said Benjamin McDowell his executors administrators
and assigns the said described horse and carriage against me
my Executors and administrators and against all and every
other person and persons whomsoever claiming or to claim
the same or any part thereof.  In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the fifth day of May
one thousand eight hundred and forty six

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit

       State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

On the 5.th day May 1846 before me one of the Justices of
the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid appears
John H Urquehart and acknowledges the within wrighting
or Indenture to be his act and deed according to the true intent
and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such a
case as made and provided
Recorded the 19.th day of May 1846      Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton Sr

these presents that

of Anne Arundel
County and State of
Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred
and eighty three dollars and forty six cents current money to me
in hand paid by James J. Grey of the County and State aforesaid
at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
