to me to be the party grantor in the above instrument of writing
and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed

Bill of sale from Junius Slemaker
to Charles Stewart dated the first
day of May 1846
Know all men by these
presents that I Junius
Slemaker of Anne
Arundel County in the
State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
forty one dollars current money to me in hand paid by Charles C.
Stewart of the same County in the said State at and before the
sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the
said Junius Slemaker do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the
said Charles C. Stewart his Executors administrators and assigns
all the goods household stuff implements and furniture two
bedstids and beds half dozen chairs one looking glass two horses
and horse cart all and singular which said goods and chattels
are now remaining standing and being in a house now occupied
by the said Junius Slemaker to have and to hold all and singular
the said goods household stuff and furniture and other the premises
above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the
said Charles C. Stewart his executors administrators and assigns
forever and I the said Junius Slemaker for myself my heirs
executors and administrators all and singular the said goods
household stuff and furniture and other the premises unto the
said Charles C Stewart his executors and administrators and assigns against
me the said Junius Slemaker my executors and administrators and assigns
and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and
will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular
which said goods household stuff and furniture and other the
premises I the said Junius Slemaker have put the said Charles
C. Stewart in full possession by delivering to him the said Charles
C. Stewart at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the
name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned
and intended so to be unto him the said Charles C. Stewart as aforesaid

    In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal
this first day of May 1846                                 Junius Slemaker   (seal)
