now in Anne Arundel County aforesaid aged about thirty years a
slave for life he being the same mulatto boy mentioned in the aforesaid
in part recited deed of trust from Jesse Leatherwood to Richard G Stockett
To have and To hold the said described negro boy to the said John
Needles his Executors administrators and assigns forever  In Testimony
Whereof me have hereunto set our hands and seals on this fourteenth
day of February Eighteen hundred and forty
Signed Sealed and delivered in               R P Stockett           (seal)

McLane Brown   Chs Hammond            Ann Leatherwood   (seal)

                   At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc  Be it remembered that
on this fourteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and forty before
the Subscribers two Justices of the peace for said state and County
appeared Richard G Stockett and acknowledges the above Instrument
of writing his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning
thereof         Acknowledged before

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered
that on this fourteenth day of February one thousand Eight hundred
and forty before the  Subscribers two Justices of the peace for said County
appears Anne Leatherwood of the City of Baltimore in said state and
acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be her act and deed
according to the true intent and meaning thereof

Know all men by these presents that I John Parrish of Aaron of
Anne Arundel County and state of maryland for and in Consideration
of the sum of Three hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid
by Henry A Crandell of the County and state aforesaid at and before the
sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John
Parrish of Aaron do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry
A Crandell his Executors administrators and assigns my negro woman
Rachel aged about thirty five years and infant child Joshua aged about
six months  To have and To hold the said described woman and child above
bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Henry A
